NATIONAL PARKS & NADGEE  NATURE RESERVE

The vast Nadgee Nature Reserve stretches from Wonboyn Village to Mallacoota south of the Victorian border.  In conjunction with Victoria's Croajingolong National Park, it is one of twelve World Biosphere Reserves in Australia - making it one of the few truly natural world wilderness areas, where major habitats are studied and carefully preserved. Just north of Nadgee is Ben Boyd National Park, and to the west the vast East Boyd and Nadgee State Forests.

The Nadgee Nature Reserve offers unparallelled walks through bushland and landscapes ranging from rugged coastal heath to tranquil rock pools and dramatic coastal cliffs. Fauna include some rare and endangered species such as the ground parrot, long thought to be extinct, and the Eastern bristlebird.  The vegetation throughout the park is both complex and diverse.

National Parks NSW also conduct a variety of seasonal workshops and activity days, especially during the school holidays.

Visit the Victorian and NSW National Parks websites for detailed information on bushwalking, permits and other aspects of visiting national parks.
