BOOKING DEPOSITS & REFUNDS

All deposits and refunds will be at management's discretion.
Please note: our policies are according to industry standard practice.

 
Why Are Deposits Requested?
Please read this if you don't understand the reason for deposits.
 
Deposits
 
  • A minimum 50% deposit will be requested at the time of booking for peak periods, all long weekends and all short notice reservations. Deposits must be paid at the time of booking via Credit Card or Direct Deposit - due to regular problems, mailed deposits will be accepted only at our discretion. If a deposit is not paid on time as described, any reservations attached to unpaid deposits will be cancelled without notice.
  • The minimum deposit for other bookings is two night's tariff, or more, depending on the length of the reservation. We prefer credit card or direct deposit, but these deposits may be paid by cheque or money order. Mailed deposits must be received within 14 days of booking, or the reservation may be cancelled without notice.
  • Due to an increasing number of defaults on bookings, please be fully aware that we will no longer chase up deposits.
  • Full payment for all bookings must be made on arrival. No refunds will be paid for early departure. 
How to Make a Deposit
 
  • Credit card details over the phone or by e-mail, with some form of "disguise" around some of the numbers such as asterisks. There is no need to specify details like your name or what type of card it is.
  • Cheque/money order by snail mail as per the limitations above. Any cheques received after 14 days will be returned to sender and the reservation will be cancelled without notice, so please make sure you are prompt with your mailed payment.
  • Direct bank deposit. Please be sure to note your name in the bank deposit description.

PARTIAL REFUNDS FOR LATE CANCELLATIONS
In extraordinary circumstances, we might give a partial, delayed refund if the cancelled accommodation
is re-booked in full by somebody else. Please note that all refunds will be at our discretion,
and the maximum refund will be 75% of the deposit paid.
 
Surcharges and Other Relevant Information

The following surcharges and deposits may be applied at management's discretion.

  • Refundable $15 cash key deposit on arrival to cover lost keys.

  • $50 surcharge to cover extra cleaning of unreasonably dirty cabins. Cabins may be inspected at our discretion.

  • Guests will be charged appropriately and at our discretion for any unnecessary or unreasonable damage to accommodation or equipment.

  • A $50 cleaning surcharge may be applied if guests change cabins during their stay.
  • We do not usually accept advance overnight accommodation bookings. In the event that a booking is accepted, a $15 cleaning surcharge may apply. This will be deducted from payment if an overnight booking is extended.
